Special Events throughout the Year in Pembrokeshire

New Year - See the New Year in in St David's with the ringing of the Cathedral bells at midnight. New Year's day concert of music, choir, and soloists in the Cathedral. Join the hardy swimmers for a dip in the sea at Whitesands or enjoy watching from the shore and help raise funds for local charities. January is free entrance to the National Botanical Garden of Wales, £2 entrance fee for event weekends. 

 

February- Don't forget Valentines day, come and stay and have a romantic time with a bottle of wine and a box of Chapel chocolates on us. Local eateries have a selection of special menus to tempt.

Half Term- blow away the cobwebs, go for a walk along the coastal path, now the only path to go along the whole of a country! Our Winter Break Offer is still on Stay three nights £360  The end of February starts the St David's Day celebrations.

 

March- 1st of the month a few days before and after we celebrate St David's Day. Experience special services in the Cathedral, Welsh food and craft market in the square and taste some traditional Cawl served with bread and welsh cheese. Ask us nearer the time for the full events list. Take some Pembrokeshire daffodils home  as a treat, or as a gift.

 

Easter- when ever it falls, treat yourself to a weekend away from it all, do some walking or just browse around the little shops and visit a garden or two! We are only an hour away from the National Botanical Gardens, just the other side of Carmarthen, Call in on the town of Narberth, a selection of individual shops on the way.

 

April- Cyclosportive-Tour of Pembrokeshire cycling event 50,75 &100 miles. Passes our door! Starts from St Davids Senior school, Penrhyn Dewi, ten minutes drive from us.

July- Fishguard International Music Festival visit www.fishguardmusicfestival.co.uk/ for further information. Early in July, date to be confirmed, sees the annual Sand Church Building Competition on Whitesands Beach starting 11.30am.Get creative or take a look at the finished sculptures and be impressed!

 

 Drama festival in the Bishops Palace various performaces in the open air or in Mathry hall. September- enjoy a peaceful few days in the warmth of the autumn weather. Visit Abereiddy and the Blue Lagoon just down the road from us. The historic place where in 2012,2013 and 2016 Red Bull held the Cliff Diving Competition. Perhaps you would like to try some other water based activities for yourself! See our activities page.

 

October- Our winter break starts and this covers half-term as well,  Join in with a local Harvest Festival and supper.

 

November and December- Fireworks in Solva harbour. Start your Christmas shopping,craft fairs and unusual gifts to buy in the locality. 1st weekend in December join us for the lighting of the Christmas tree in St David's lots of fun! 

 

Our local christmas fayres start, watch out for Solva Woollen Mill  and Oriel y Parc especially. Enjoy a drink and a meal at our local pub the Sloop, Porthgain in front of a real fire. 

Hire Cwmwdig Cwtch for a New Years break. Relax, enjoy the ringing in the new year with the cathedral bells, watch or join in the New Years day charity swim at Whitesands.Concert in the cathedral in the afternoon.

Cancellation Policy

On booking your stay with us, you are entering into a legally binding contract. Should you unfortunately need to cancel or curtail your planned stay with us, within four weeks of arrival, you will be liable for a cancellation charge upto the total cost of your holiday and also an adminisration charge of 10%. Deposits are non-refundable but will be held, at our discretion, to the end of the season. Therefore to save any embarressment we advise you to take out insurance on your holiday.
